Cooking Italian gnocchi is a simple and quick process:
Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add a generous amount of salt to the boiling water; this helps flavour the gnocchi. Gently add the Italian gnocchi to the boiling water. Stir gently to prevent sticking. The gnocchi will initially sink to the bottom of the pot. Once they start floating to the surface (usually within 2-4 minutes), they are cooked.
Using a slotted spoon or a strainer, carefully remove the gnocchi from the boiling water and let them drain. For added flavour, you can heat some olive oil or melt butter in a pan. Add the cooked gnocchi to the pan and sauté for a few minutes until they develop a light golden colour. Transfer the cooked gnocchi to a serving dish. You can sprinkle them with Parmesan cheese for an extra touch of flavour.
